Our step-by-step guide

No matter how familiar you are with fine gemstones or metals, bringing your design to life should be an approachable, collaborative and fun experience. If you’re wondering what that looks like, here’s the breakdown:
Get Started1. Scheduling a consultation
We offer complimentary phone consultations, during which we’ll explore what you have in mind for your custom piece. The goal of this consultation is to empower your choices. By the end of our meeting, you’ll feel fluent in the processes and materials that will bring your dream piece to life.
Custom design typically takes 8-12 weeks. If you have a deadline, we highly recommend scheduling your consultation 4 months in advance.
2. Sourcing Stones
With Casual Custom, you gain access to a network of suppliers that meet our high standards for sustainability and conduct. We’ll show you multiple stones in a variety of sizes, qualities, and cuts so that you can pick the one that speaks to you. Wondering about Grandma’s diamond? We’re always down to repurpose and incorporate your heirloom stones.
3. Design Details
This is the fun part, where you get to see your ideas come to life. After choosing the perfect stone, we work out the details of your piece using computer-aided-design (CAD) software. All CAD is done in-house, so you’ll be provided with rendered images of your piece, and allowed two rounds of adjustments before moving forward with the production process. A 3D-printed model is also available upon request.
4. Finishing touches
With your design finalized and approved, it’s time for production. A 3D printed resin is cast in the metal of your choice, followed by stone setting and polishing. In approximately 4-6 weeks, your responsibly made and completely unique piece of jewelry is complete.
